Hello, few people that actually see my blog (: I just wanted to inform you of a sort of project my boyfriend and i recently began.

Austin Rowey [link] , an absolutely amazing writer, and i have decided to make our own deviantart page called BrokenHorizons [link] displaying both of our art. My photography, and his poetry/short stories. One person and one art inspiring another.

My name is Nikki (or Kiki, if you prefer).

I am 15 years old and live in New York state.

I've been interested in photography basically since i got my first camera, a Sanyo C40 when i was 12.

I now mainly use a Canon Rebel XS that i got this past christmas, that i absolutely love.

I'm really into music. I listen to a lot of accoustic, indie, folk//antifolk, but also alternative rock, 'screamo', techno, and metal. I can play the cello, electric bass, piano, and drums. My main instrument is the cello.

I don't like to define myself, and i don't try to dress a certain way to 'fit in' or become popular. That doesn't matter to me, as long as I like what i'm wearing. Fashion isn't about looking 'normal', it's about being unique. Basically art you can wear. And so i really don't care how many people say that my glasses are horribly ugly or that wearing tutus in public is weird.

I love vintage things. Vintage jewelry, cameras (i have a small collection of old cameras), pictures, clothing, anything really.

In the past year or so, i've learned how to really LOOK at art, instead of just saying 'oh that's pretty'. It's definitely made me love photography even more, and appreciate writers more.
A majority of my pictures are just random things at nice angles with good focus, but i really want to do some photography with actual meaning behind it.

I don't have a specific favourite band.
My favourite photographer is Nirrimi Hakanson.
My hero basically, is Audrey Kitching.
My favourite writer is Austin Rowey. ( [link] )

When i graduate high school, i plan to move to New York City and go to FIT for fashion photography.

I'm terrible at blogs of any sort, so i tend not to write any ever, but i just wanted to share something quick.

My really good friend [and incredible writer] made a deviantart! Wooo!
He only posted one story so far, called Drift [link] . It's quite incredible, and it's only his first story! Personally, i'm excited to see what he puts up next.
So you should go read it, and favourite it, and write lovely comments about it, and add him to your deviantwatch and whatnot. I'm sure it would mean a lot to him if he got some nice feedback (:
